Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimating Director to join our team at William Charles Construction. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in construction estimating and leadership skills to drive success.

About the Role

The Electrical Estimating Director will oversee the electrical estimating department, ensuring effective management of estimating activities, resources, and staff training. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and meet departmental objectives while enhancing estimating practices.

This individual will utilize their extensive experience in construction estimating to develop best practices, review bids, and manage departmental operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the firm's estimating activities, including pre-bid attendance, bid management, cost databases, estimating software, and implementing/improving all estimating practices.
  • Perform functions inherent to a manager/supervisory position through directing, planning, organizing, and coordinating.
  • Conduct/attend project meetings/huddles as needed to communicate project requirements.
  • Establish timelines and estimating goals for effective and timely submittals.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration on estimates between all disciplines and parties.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Proven high-level construction estimating experience as well as leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Proven management experience, a history of leading, teaching, developing, and mentoring others successfully.
  • Demonstrates solid presentation skills and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
