Mental Health Security Specialist Night Shift

The Mental Health Security Technician functions as an active part of the safety team, providing staff, patient, and visitor protection. This role may also be required to function as an active part of the Environment of Care EOC team, providing patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging from adolescents through geriatrics. The MHST will report to the Director of Plant Operations and is responsible for monitoring building entrances and facility grounds, responding to codes, and assisting with other patient needs, as well as fulfilling the needs of the front desk to include greeting guests/visitors, directing calls, and performing security checks.
Responsibilities:
Monitor building entrances and facility grounds to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Respond to codes and assist with other patient needs as required.
Fulfill the needs of the front desk, including greeting guests/visitors, directing calls, and performing security checks.
Provide patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging from adolescents through geriatrics as part of the Environment of Care EOC team.
Requirements:
High School Degree or equivalent required.
Two (2) years of related security experience required, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness and hospital setting, highly preferred.
Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.
Successful completion of Handle with Care, Verbal De-escalation, Service Excellence Training, and CPR certification required.
MHST's must successfully complete 75 hours of classroom/computer-based instruction and 100 hours of supervised clinical practicum.
