KVC Health Systems is seeking a dedicated Child Welfare Specialist to join our team in Lincoln County, West Virginia. As a Child Welfare Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to children and families in need.

About the Role

This position offers an estimated annual salary of $60,000-$80,000 based on experience and qualifications.

You will work as a member of a treatment team, making required home visits to foster or adoptive homes and school visits to ensure the well-being of children. Your primary goal will be to build a safe, secure, and stable child welfare system that is family-centered and connected to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a member of a treatment team and provide feedback on client progress.
  • Make required home visits to foster or adoptive homes a minimum of two times per month or as directed by the treatment plan.
  • Attend all IEP meetings and participate in Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings.
  • Travel to multiple counties in the service area and work with families in their homes.
  • Ensure that all child placing and Medicaid standards are met through documentation and chart updates.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a social services field and be licensed by the West Virginia Board of Social Work Examiners or equivalent board. A minimum of two years' experience in children and family services is also required.

You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and community partners. Additionally, you must have knowledge of child development, parenting skills, and trauma, as well as de-escalation techniques.

A valid driver's license and auto insurance are also necessary for this position.
