Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit Nurse to join our team at El Paso Children's Hospital. This role involves providing specialized care to children who require more attention than general care but are not critically ill.

About the Role

The Pediatric Intermediate Care Nurse will be responsible for monitoring and managing conditions that fall between general care and intensive care, ensuring the well-being of pediatric patients. This may include caring for children recovering from surgery, chronic illnesses, or complex medical conditions, with a focus on stability and progression towards full health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage pediatric patients' conditions, working closely with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patients' unique needs and circumstances.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress, treatment, and outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current RN license to practice in the State of Texas.
  • One year of RN acute hospital critical care experience.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred, but not required.
