Newrest, a leading provider of in-flight catering services, is seeking a highly skilled Flight Support Specialist to join our team at Houston Airport.
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and efficient individual to assist with flight equipment pairing, load and unload food carts, and provide support to drivers loading carts onto airplanes.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and Unloading: Load and unload all equipment, including food carts, ensuring timely delivery to aircraft.
- Ramp Assistance: Provide assistance to drivers on the ramp, guiding loads being lifted to prevent swinging.
- Catering: Assist with catering activities, including loading products into vehicles according to galley plans.
- Auditing: Confirm flights are complete by auditing provisioned equipment.
- Equipment Transport: Transport equipment from partnering departments to transportation dock.
- Quality Control: Check conformity and quantity of trolleys and boxes before loading.
- Loading and Delivery: Ensure loading of products into vehicles according to galley plans, and ensure timely delivery.
- Security: Secure all products before delivery to the aircraft by sealing material (truck).
- Malfunction Reporting: Communicate any malfunction to Supervisor/Manager and dispatch team.
- Documentation: Fill various security documents, safety, and HACCP forms.
- Materials Handling: Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers.
- Work Order Execution: Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
- Equipment Sorting: Sort equipment/carts before loading and unloading.
- Inventory Protection: Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure inventory protection.
- Record Keeping: Record numbers of units handled or moved using daily production sheets.
- Container Repacking: Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers.
- Tool Management: Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated annual salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000, depending on experience. Newrest offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or vocational training preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a related field, such as logistics or warehousing.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Familiarity with cargo handling equipment and procedures.
