Licensed Practical Nurse

About the Role:
This position will be working in our new medical ambulatory campus, providing care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person's physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the Organization.
Responsibilities:
- Exhibits each of the Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards holding self and others accountable and role modeling excellence for all to see.
- Demonstrates friendliness and courtesy as effective communication creates a professional environment and provides first-class service.
- Performs treatments and procedures according to approved standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Verifies and implements physician/other licensed independent practitioner's orders.
- Administers medications, according to the organization's standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
- Initiates appropriate emergency procedures within the scope of practice under the direction of the RN/physician.
- Practices proper patient identification procedures.
- Maintains equipment appropriate to the care environment.
- Provides pertinent clinical information to appropriate members of the patient care team.
- Keeps patient/family appraised/updated.
- Documents accurately and completely pertinent information/data in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
Requirements:
- Graduate of School of Practical Nursing
- Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Ohio
- Successful completion of an LPN IV therapy course with proof of certification through one of the following: LPN Curriculum (i.e., part of Ohio's required curriculum), National Certification (i.e., NAPNES), or through IV training course that includes pharmacology at a hospital
- Current BLS/CPR
- Effective Communication Skills
- Basic computer skills required; prior experience using an EMR for charting preferred
