The Aviary Recovery Center seeks a skilled Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team in Eolia, MO.

About the Job:
The LPN/RN Recovery Nurse will work under the direction of a qualified professional nurse, participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.

This role requires effective communication and collaboration with medical staff, administration, clinicians, dietitians, and milieu personnel to ensure high client safety standards and a therapeutic environment.



Roles and Responsibilities:
POSITION FOR 12p - 12a Mon Tues Wed with flexibility to fill in when needed

  • Provides direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of clients, maintaining client safety and adhering to unit and facility policies and procedures.
  • Assists in health and psychiatric teaching for clients and families, serving as a role model for clients and peers.
  • Shares responsibility for planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans and nursing care.
  • Effectively communicates with medical staff, receives verbal/written orders, and takes care to minimize errors.
  • Prepares, administers, controls, and accurately records medications in accordance with policy, documenting administration effects and/or adverse effects.
  • Observes, documents, and communicates with/reports to the R.N. in charge any clinical, physical, unit, or personnel issues that could alter client care.
  • Reports status changes and concerns to registered nurses and doctors, communicating with all departments as needed to ensure total quality client care.
  • Consults, follows, and documents nursing care according to facility policy and procedures, recording client symptoms, responses, and progress concisely, accurately, and completely.
  • Safely and accurately performs vital signs, electrocardiograms, phlebotomy/labs, and diabetic/glucose monitoring, interpreting results and taking appropriate nursing action.
  • Provides coverage in emergency services as needed.
  • Graduation from an approved Licensed Practical/Vocational Nursing Program is required.
  • One or more years' nursing experience within the clinical area of service provided by the facility is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with psychotropic medications and medication administration procedures are required.
  • Ability to apply nursing standards and practice within a recovery setting is essential.
  • A valid current practical/vocational nursing license from the state or from a nurse compact state, where applicable, is required.
  • CPR and de-escalation certification are required, with training available upon hire and offered by the facility.
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
