About the Role:

The Medical Support Specialist will be responsible for providing medical support to the plasma center operations, working under the guidance of the Center Manager and the management of the Center Physician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical support to donors, including medical history interviews, physical examinations, and blood testing.
  • Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when needed for guidance on medical or technical issues.
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Satisfactorily complete the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
