At Virginia Commonwealth University, we are seeking an experienced Health Psychologist to join our Department of Psychiatry. As a Health Psychology Consultant for Bariatric Surgery, you will play a critical role in providing consultation liaison services within designated VCU Health System programs, particularly in the area of bariatric surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for a highly skilled professional with experience in clinical health psychology, advanced training in bariatric surgical evaluations, and a strong background in behavioral health interventions. Your expertise will be invaluable in developing approaches to challenging behavioral problems related to health psychology.

Responsibilities will include providing consultation liaison services, teaching, and supervision in health psychology postdoctoral and psychiatry residency programs. You will also be responsible for assisting with training within the health psychology postdoctoral fellowship and serving on relevant committees of the department, university, and health system.

Requirements:

We are seeking a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program, with advanced training and experience in clinical health psychology, licensed or license-eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Your experience in a broad range of behavioral health interventions, including transplant, weight loss, primary care, geriatric, cancer, and other settings, will be highly valued.

Preferred Qualifications:

We are also seeking applicants with APA-accredited postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Health Psychology, as well as demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
