Job Overview

This role involves processing bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payrolls, ensuring all employees are compensated accurately and on time. You will be responsible for compliance with federal, state, and local laws, managing year-end tax filing processes, and maintaining data integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll: Ensure accurate and timely payment to employees, considering hours worked, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and benefit contributions.
  • Compliance and reporting: Maintain adherence to wage and hour laws, payroll tax compliance, and reporting requirements.
  • Data integrity: Review payroll data for accuracy and completeness, including employee classifications and multi-state tax laws.
  • Audit support: Prepare payroll data, reports, and documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Employee support: Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees, addressing issues with deductions, overtime, and payroll processing timelines.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably within the logistics or transportation industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • CPP certification is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with unique payroll needs of logistics companies, including multi-state tax laws and varying labor regulations.
  • Experience with non-union employee classifications.
Physical Requirements

This role requires frequent sitting, using hands/fingers for dexterity and coordination, reaching for items above and below desk level, talking, hearing, and seeing. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be necessary.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is $75,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
