CRNA - Orthopaedic Anesthesia Specialist

As a CRNA with OSS Health, you will provide high-quality perioperative anesthesia care to patients undergoing orthopaedic surgical procedures. Under the medical direction of anesthesiologists, you will administer anesthetics, perform pre-operative evaluations, and provide post-operative follow-up care. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of anesthesia services.
Responsibilities- Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations, including documentation of findings and pertinent information regarding the choice of anesthesia.
- Review patient condition and medical record prior to induction, including lab data, medication administration, and patient appraisal.
- Interview and examine patients to ensure they are suitable candidates for anesthesia.
- Develop and implement anesthetic plans tailored to the patient's condition and procedure.
- Verify equipment function before administering anesthesia.
- Administer anesthesia, ensuring adequate ventilation and circulatory function.
- Perform intra-operative monitoring and provide continuous anesthesia care.
- Document anesthesia records, including post-operative orders.
- Accompany patients to the PACU, providing a complete report of the anesthesia care provided.
- Evaluate patients for discharge and sign discharge orders.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain high-quality care.
- Adhere to system-wide and department-specific policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the patient care team to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Current license as a registered professional nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Certification or recertification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
- ACLS and PALS certification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in orthopaedics, preferably.
- Graduate of an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education.
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
