Job Summary

The Field Technician is a key role at Universal Engineering Sciences, responsible for the day-to-day completion of work assignments related to testing concrete, soils, asphalt, and other construction materials. This position requires a reliable and trustworthy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and autonomy are valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials at job sites

• Ensure that project testing requirements are met and compliant with project specifications, requirements, and company policies or procedures

• Operate testing equipment, ensuring that all test equipment used is functioning properly and maintained as required by the company and/or manufacturer's policy

• Communicate with the dispatching team and/or field supervisor, advising of current job status and locations as required

• Prepare testing reports using Field Data Collection (FDC) software

Requirements:

• Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record

• Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida's Jessica Lunsford Act

• Ability to read and write, including interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

• Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop, including sending and receiving emails, and the ability to learn Field Data Collection (FDC)/Inspector Gadget to input data and prepare reports

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

• ACI Field Technician Level I

• Earthworks Construction Inspection Certification - Level I

Work Environment:

This job is located in Florida, with exposure to intense sun, intense heat, humidity, rain, thunderstorms, and other adverse weather conditions. Job site conditions may or may not be accessible by vehicle and can include wetlands, swamps, grasslands, and fields with uneven surfaces, sand, brush, and other natural and man-made obstacles. This job is primarily and regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and construction sites where the noise level is usually moderate to loud.
