Associate Director of Student Engagement and Leadership Development

The Associate Director of Student Engagement and Leadership Development is a key member of the Office of Student Experience (OSE) team, responsible for providing a shared vision for student engagement on campus and within the community. This role requires a student-centered leader who is innovative, energetic, and passionate about creating quality educational development, social experiences, and leadership programming that supports the mission of Delaware State University.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement comprehensive leadership education, training, and development programs for students.
- Lead campus-wide civic learning and democratic engagement efforts, community outreach and service initiatives, and oversee specific organizations, including Greek Life, Women's Senate, and Men's Council.
- Provide leadership for the Alternative Service Break program and inspire a shared vision for student engagement.
- Oversee multiple student accounts, budgets, and maintain transactions/receipts.
- Support the OSELD departmental assessment and student engagement data reporting.
- Assist with management of various social media engagement platforms and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Student Center.
- Develop protocols to ensure appropriate risk assessment and liability reduction in partnership with unit personnel and other key university stakeholders.
- Provide leadership for campus-community outreach and collaboration, serving on university and community committees.
- Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Public Administration, or related field, and 3+ years of professional experience working with students in a higher education setting or related experience, with a focus on leadership development and civic engagement.
- 3+ years in a supervisory/management position.
