About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Psychologist to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs Gulf Coast VA Healthcare System in Mobile, AL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient contact, including case management, psychological assessment and treatment planning, individual psychotherapy/assessment sessions, family/caregiver stress therapy sessions, and other evidence-based treatments for serious mental illness.
  • Perform evaluations for patients with various psychological disorders.

Work Schedule and Benefits

The successful candidate will work a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with potential for telework arrangements. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or non-citizen with authorization to work in the country.
  • Hold a full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State.
  • Possess a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA).
  • Complete a professional psychology internship training program accredited by APA or CPA.
  • Have education or experience providing care to individuals with Serious Mental Illness (Preferred).
  • Exhibit strong motivation, teamwork, and commitment to the care and well-being of our nation's veterans.
