Role Summary

We are seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join our team as Psychiatric Specialists in North Austin, Texas. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, including brief cognitive and emotional assessments, psychotropic medication management, and gradual dosage reductions.

About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to work with a highly specialized team of Board Certified Geriatric Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Psychologists, and Licensed Clinical Social Workers. You will have the flexibility to mold your schedule to best fit your lifestyle, working largely in the field rather than an office setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients in Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments, develop treatment plans, and prescribe/recommend medications as needed
  • Collaborate with nursing home staff to ensure continuity of care and high-quality patient outcomes
  • Prioritize timely responses to urgent situations, communicating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders as necessary

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Texas
  • Experience working in a Psychiatric Setting, preferably with geriatric populations
  • Strong assessment and treatment planning skills, with ability to work autonomously
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
