Department: Nursing Home

Supervision: Reports to the Director of Nursing (DON)

Position Status: Non-Exempt

Collaborative Relationships: Works closely with Staff Nurses, Dietary Staff, Housekeeping Staff, Residents, and their Families.

Role Summary:

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will be instrumental in delivering direct care and assistance to residents, working under the guidance of licensed nursing professionals. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Monitoring and recording vital signs, promptly reporting any changes to nursing staff.
  • Assisting residents with mobility and safe transfers.
  • Providing companionship and emotional support to residents.
  • Helping with meal preparation and feeding tasks.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized living environment for residents.
  • Accurately documenting care provided and observations made.
  • Supporting Basic Care Aides (BCA) during their duties.
Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Capable of maintaining focus amidst frequent interruptions.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving abilities and knowledge of geriatric care.
  • Familiarity with bathing products and equipment.
  • Commitment to quality care and infection control standards.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Willingness to engage in self-education for professional development.
  • Understanding of charting, care plans, and scheduling practices.
  • Ability to adapt communication styles to suit different personalities.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED; must be at least 16 years old.
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in geriatric care.
  • Current certification as a Nursing Assistant in Minnesota.
  • Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting.
  • Completion of a TB test within the initial weeks of employment.
Work Schedule:
  • Location: Hallock, MN
  • Available as Full-time, Part-time, or Flexible schedules.
  • Shifts: Morning (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM), Evening (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM), Night (10:00 PM - 6:30 AM).
  • Availability for every other weekend and holiday is required.
  • Work settings include Nursing Home and Long-term Care facilities.
