About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Multimodal Machine Learning Engineer to join our AI division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining AI solutions related to vision, language, and other modalities. You will work closely with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to design and build scalable and reliable AI-powered solutions that can process vast amounts of documents efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop novel models that effectively combine information from vision and language models.
  • Research and explore the latest advancements in multimodal machine learning, LLMs, and related fields through continuous learning and professional development activities.
  • Preprocess and curate datasets to ensure they are suitable for training the proposed models.
  • Evaluate and analyze model performance on various tasks and datasets to identify areas of improvement.
  • Optimize hyperparameters and model configurations to achieve the best performance across different modalities.
  • Apply transfer learning techniques to enhance model generalization and reduce training time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and develop APIs to integrate our technology into existing systems.
  • Assist in the deployment of trained models to production environments and monitor their performance to ensure reliability and scalability.
  • Work with product managers to define requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of model designs, implementation, experiments, and results for knowledge sharing and future reference.
  • Work full-time onsite out of our office in Hawthorne, California.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's and/or PhD degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field with at least 2 years of professional experience in Machine Learning.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals and experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch).
  • Extensive experience in training deep neural network models (such as training on multiple nodes/GPUs).
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or similar languages and Linux scripting.
  • Ability to thrive and collaborate in ambiguous environments, working closely with team members to solve challenging technical problems.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Salary

The estimated salary range for this role is $160,000-$220,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
