Job Summary

As a Medical Technologist at Staff Icons, you will be responsible for performing test procedures of moderate/high complexity, exercising independent judgment and responsibility in designated specialties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and report on assigned analytical tests in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), ensuring quality control requirements are met.
  • Support the department in quality control, troubleshooting, customer support, instrument maintenance, staff training, and process improvement.
  • Actively support laboratory policies and procedures for specimen handling, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining patient test results.
  • Ensure analytical schedules are maintained to meet turnaround times for results.
  • Perform and document quality control analysis to ensure accuracy of clinical data and instrument function.
  • Report any deviations from standard testing procedures and cooperate with investigations.
  • Enter test results into the Laboratory Information System for standardized reporting.
  • Maintain laboratory areas and equipment in a safe and sanitary condition.
  • Complete training and competency checklists as required.

Requirements
  • One year of full-time experience or training in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory policies and procedures.
  • BS/BA in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology, or an Associate's degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Systems.
