Cancer Registrar Role

At CoreTechs, we are seeking a skilled Cancer Registrar to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing electronic medical records and extracting clinical, pathological, therapeutic, and epidemiologic data in accordance with established oncology data collection practices and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Competently analyze electronic medical records to extract relevant data
Develop skills to deliver accurate results in a timely manner
Exercise sound judgment and work independently
Communicate effectively with patients, family/support groups, and healthcare providers

Requirements:

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma
Associate's degree in a health-related field or equivalent education/experience
Completion of an accredited Cancer Registrar training program

Preferred Qualifications:

1 year of recent relevant experience
Knowledge of cancer, cancer staging mechanisms, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, American College of Surgeons Facility Oncology Registry Data Standards (FORDS) Manual, and SEER Multiple Primary & Histology Manual
Understanding of the cancer disease process, including tumor nomenclature, medical terminology, medical procedures, anatomy, and physiology
