Job Summary: As an MRI Technologist at Kaiser, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients. Under the supervision of the Radiology Supervisor, you will perform a variety of MRI procedures and departmental support functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct MRI examinations of the brain, body, spine, and extremities on patients of all ages, adjusting scanning parameters as needed to ensure optimal image quality.
  • Select and modify technical factors to enhance images, identifying gross pathology in the human body and adjusting scanning parameters accordingly.
  • Start and remove IV lines for contrast studies, adhering to established departmental policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate the dangers associated with implants and devices to individuals entering the MR system room.
  • Review each examination for technical accuracy and present completed examinations to radiologists.
  • Identify anatomical orientation on all required images and ensure proper film identification on all images.
  • Maintain daily patient MRI logs, documenting patient information accurately and efficiently.
  • Demonstrate the ability to organize patient care and set priorities, providing critical care first and implementing physician orders.
  • Perform proper computer skills, demonstrating a working knowledge of patient orders, status changes, patient charges, and profiles.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as an MRI technologist, or registry eligible ARRT advanced certification in MRI required.
  • Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program or MRI Accredited Certificate Program required.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Magnetic Resonance Imaging within 12 months of hire, or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists Certificate.
  • Basic Life Support.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification.

Additional Requirements:

  • Venipuncture competency check off required within 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to adjust routine to accommodate patient or department without affecting departmental flow.
  • Requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 20 to 45 minutes at a time.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of customer-focused service requirements of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate pleasantly and effectively with members and coworkers.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Location: Tyson's Corner Medical Center, McLean, Virginia

Work Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week, Day shift, Sat-Sun 09:00 AM - 07:30 PM
