Job Overview

The Manager of School Support is responsible for ensuring the effective operation of school systems, focusing on student enrollment, recruitment, data reporting & compliance, and transportation responsibilities.

This position entails collaborating with various stakeholders, including the School Operations Teams, district transportation, and community partners, to enhance the educational environment and streamline Regional Operations support services across KIPP Capital Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation
    • Partner with vendors to ensure bus routes properly serve our school's student population.
    • Work closely with the Managing Director of School Health to ensure arrival and dismissal procedures are implemented so that our students can enter and leave campus safely and securely.
    • Manage district transportation logistics & communications to ensure safe and efficient transportation for students across the region.
    • Partner with external vendors to coordinate bus routes to efficiently and effectively service our school population.
    • Collaborate with school districts, vendors, and community organizations to enhance service delivery and support for students and families.
    • Address any operational challenges efficiently and work towards practical solutions.
  • Enrollment
    • Support executing school student recruitment strategy to ensure 100% of available seats are full.
    • Work closely with the Managing Director of School Health to develop and implement strategies to attract and enroll students, as well as collaborate with schools to meet enrollment targets.
    • Analyze enrollment data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • School & Regional Support
    • Support the school Operations Team with the annual collection of regional forms, including transportation requests, proof of residency, and free/reduced-price lunch applications.
    • Provide guidance and support to schools in completing and submitting required documentation for federal and state programs for our students.
    • Partner with various internal stakeholders to ensure the efficient use of school information systems for student registration and enrollment processes.
    • Support, lead, and manage in ensuring compliance with data reporting requirements for agencies such as SUNY Charter, KIPP Foundation, and NYSED. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of student and staff data.
    • In collaboration with the Director of School Support, maintain compliance with state and federal regulations regarding data management and reporting.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Student Support in organizing and leading regional events, ensuring they meet educational, regional, and KIPP CAP community needs.
    • Support the planning and execution of professional development opportunities for staff and school leaders.
  • Communication
    • Maintain effective communication channels among operational teams at each school, ensuring alignment on processes and responsibilities.
    • Promote a collaborative and supportive environment and foster positive relationships with school neighbors, community stakeholders, and families.
    • Foster good relationships and solid communication with the school's neighborhood community.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University is required.
  • At least one (1) or more years of experience working in School Operations, preferably in the charter, private, or public school environment, with a background in School Systems, Student Information Systems, Student Enrollment & Recruitment, and Transportation.
  • A strong understanding of student enrollment processes, transportation logistics, and data compliance requirements is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience working in schools and urban communities is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule outside of regular business hours.
  • Aptitude to create and work within an inclusive environment that honors and supports a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Please note: Infrequent travel to different KIPP Capital Region schools is required.
  • Must be willing and able to take a Criminal History Background Check.

KIPP Capital Region offers a competitive salary ranging from $68,400 - $75,600. Salaries are determined using an equitable compensation scale that accounts for years of experience relevant to the role and longevity within the KIPP network. KIPP Capital Region will evaluate and determine the step/level a new hire will be placed within our teacher salary scale at point of hire.
