Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospitalist

The Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Ob/Gyn Hospitalist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our hospital's obstetric emergency department, labor and delivery unit, and perinatal safety program, you will provide expert clinical leadership and direction in all patient care activities.
With approximately 2000 deliveries per year, our Level 3 Perinatal Center requires an individual with strong clinical experience and leadership skills to support the full scope of hospital-based obstetrical and acute gynecologic care. You will exercise professional and academic direction in all patient care, professional, and academic activities related to medical care.
This role balances clinical responsibilities with academic pursuits, including supervision of OB/GYN residents and medical students. Faculty appointment at Northeastern Ohio Medical University is available for the right candidate.
We offer a competitive salary, estimated around $250,000 - $350,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Flexible employment options are available, including nocturnist and part-time positions.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing primary responsibility for admissions from Womens Health Clinic services and unregistered or walk-in patients
- Responding to and assisting in Ob/Gyn emergencies throughout the hospital
- Supporting established obstetrical practices with care of inpatients and providing emergency care until a patient's private attending physician is present
- Working with Maternal Fetal Medicine service to evaluate and manage hospital transfers and provide backup as needed for family medicine services
