Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.

About the Role

The Clinical Mental Health Specialist will work in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies to provide timely and immediate mental health services. This is a grant-funded position that aims to strengthen community resources and promote individual follow-up through referrals.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, assess, and plan interventions to help patients cope with social, emotional, economic, and environmental problems.
  • Operate as an independently licensed behavioral health clinician co-responder with local area first response agencies.
  • Work a varied schedule of full-time, evenings/weekends, and on-call shifts.
  • Interview and assess patients and/or their family members, caregivers, and/or legal representatives.
  • Determine, prioritize, and provide or arrange for needed internal and external services/interventions.
  • Participate in case reviews to evaluate case management and progress.
  • Consult with healthcare team members to promote, monitor, and evaluate compliance with patient treatment plans.
  • Respond in the field as a co-responder with local law enforcement to patients in active crisis.
  • Identify appropriate resources, including transportation, housing, healthcare, and social/spiritual services, and provide referrals as part of the field response.

Requirements

  • Masters degree or higher in Social Services or Behavioral Health-related field.
  • Wyoming Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor (LMFT).
  • At least two years of clinical experience, including acute mental illness.

Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year
