**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an Armed Public Safety Officer to join our team As a key member of our security team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients, visitors, and staff.

This is a dynamic and challenging opportunity for individuals who are passionate about delivering excellent customer service, have strong communication skills, and are committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Patrol hospital facilities and property to detect and prevent unauthorized access, unsafe conditions, and ensure life safety standards are maintained.
  • Maintain effective communication with supervisors, fellow officers, and law enforcement agencies to report crimes, incidents, and safety-related irregularities.
  • Respond to and intervene in confrontations, restrain violent or disoriented individuals as lawfully directed, and provide support to clinical teams during patient emergencies.
  • Observe and maintain necessary safety precautions, protocols for observations, holds, and patient restraints in accordance with federal, state, and organizational mandates.
  • Administer initial first aid as appropriate and within the scope of training.
  • Investigate and document safety hazards, incidents, and criminal activities through written and electronic reports as required.

**Requirements and Qualifications:**

  • A minimum of two (2) years of security, military, or law enforcement experience.
  • Successful completion of Emory Healthcare's Basic Officer Course and Firearms Training Course upon hire.
  • Passing a psychological exam.
  • Ongoing certifications and training requirements, including IAHSS Basic, CPI, BLS, and Georgia Secretary of State License for Armed In-House Security Officer.

**Compensation and Benefits:**

The estimated annual salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000, depending on qualifications and experience. A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off, is also available.

This role requires working in a fast-paced hospital environment, interacting with diverse populations, and responding to emergency situations. The ability to work effectively under pressure, think critically, and communicate clearly is essential.
