Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners to join our team at the City of Roanoke Adult Detention Center. As a Nurse Practitioner with NaphCare, you will provide direct and indirect medical care to meet the physiological, psychological, and emotional needs of our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect medical care to meet the physiological, psychological, and emotional needs of patients
  • Obtain history and perform a physical examination to determine patient health status
  • Formulate a working diagnosis, develop and implement treatment plans
  • Identify patient health conditions and prescribe treatment based on diagnosis
  • Evaluate patients who have returned from off-site treatment
  • Admit and discharge patients from all units in the facility
  • Conduct rounds
  • Schedule and perform laboratory and diagnostic procedures

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner in Virginia
  • Current DEA registration
  • An appropriate collaborative agreement with the on-site Physician
  • A valid CPR card
  • Be certified in a Board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in primary care with correctional healthcare preferred
  • Must possess strong written communication and verbal skills
  • Have strong computer skills
