Job Summary

Parsons is seeking a seasoned Sr. Aviation/Airport Construction Manager to lead our team in Ontario, Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage on-site field construction activities for large projects, preferably $1 billion in value, on commercial airports.
  • Supervise construction of airport facilities and projects, ensuring quality assurance and coordination with contractors and owners.
  • Direct planning of construction activities, identifying critical milestones and priorities, and reviewing contractor proposals.
  • Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for Parsons-defined scope and schedule of required services.
  • Ensure availability of subcontractors and equipment providers to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Assign construction professionals and support disciplines under supervision, monitoring progress and recommending corrective action.
  • Manage manpower, materials, and equipment to meet budgetary goals and maintain schedules.
  • Maintain oversight of potential problem areas and recommend preventive action to ensure critical milestones are met.
  • Prepare periodic reports summarizing construction progress for higher-level management and client review.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and recommend promotions and salary actions for direct reports.
  • Implement Company, client, and regulatory policies and procedures affecting project progress.
  • Serve as primary contact with client representatives, engineers, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong client and community relations to promote project sustainability and coordination with adjacent projects.
  • Manage a team of inspectors and resident engineers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent construction experience (15+ years).
  • Experience in airport or large vertical structural project construction is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction processes and industry practices.
  • Ability to collaborate and solve project challenges.
  • Effective managerial capability and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to lead a group of senior discipline inspectors and construction administration support personnel.
