Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach in our Engineering Design program. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing students in various design courses, including Introduction to Engineering Design, Advanced Engineering Design, Architectural Design, and Engineering Design for Industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct students in design courses, utilizing computer-based systems and software to produce technical illustrations and designs.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans, syllabi, and test files for each class.
  • Counsel students as needed, providing guidance and support to ensure academic success.
  • Conduct program advisory board meetings to ensure the program remains relevant and effective.
  • Assist with the development of the budget for supplies, equipment, and software needed to implement and maintain the program.
  • Utilize Canvas web shell, classroom technology, and computers to enhance the learning experience.
  • Meet SFCC expectations of in-service attendance and punctuality.
  • Provide a current course syllabus and handouts to students, the coordinator, and other stakeholders.
  • Submit course attendance records as requested.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in a technical field and at least 2 years of pertinent work experience, or
  • Three years of pertinent work experience

  • Commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community college
  • Understanding of community college students
  • Willingness to improve instruction through professional development
