Job Title: Communications Manager

Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Communications Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that showcases our mission and work.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and refine internal and external communications strategy, including content calendar and methods of communication.
  • Create and manage content for social media platforms, including Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Manage the DRDFS website, create e-newsletter campaigns, blogs, and other content.
  • Develop and distribute print newsletters, marketing materials, and promotional event materials.
  • Collaborate with the PR firm to prepare for media placement and coordinate on-site media opportunities.
  • Serve as staff lead for the Publicity and Recognition Committee, managing budget and setting annual goals.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a related communications role.
  • Experience managing social media platforms and tailoring strategy/messaging to fit target audiences.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks within deadlines and budget.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience creating graphics and promotional materials on Canva, Publisher, or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong writing and communications skills, with ability to speak publicly about the mission and work of the organization.
  • Adaptable and flexible to assignment and project changes.
  • Experience with email marketing software, preferably Constant Contact.
