Critical Care Nurse

Aequor Technologies is seeking a skilled Critical Care Nurse to join our team. As a critical care nurse, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Stepdown Unit. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall condition, promptly identifying and addressing any changes in status. You will also administer medications, including IV drips and infusions, as prescribed by physicians, and perform complex nursing procedures. Additionally, you will assist with the transition of patients from the ICU to the PCU/Stepdown unit, ensuring continuity of care and smooth handoff.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the PCU or Stepdown Unit
- Monitor patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall condition
- Administer medications, including IV drips and infusions, as prescribed by physicians
- Perform complex nursing procedures
- Assist with the transition of patients from the ICU to the PCU/Stepdown unit
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and discharge planning, promoting understanding and compliance
- Perform regular assessments and document patient information accurately, maintaining up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Respond to emergencies and provide immediate care
- Utilize critical thinking skills to evaluate patient needs and make informed decisions to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Requirements
- Current RN state license in good standing
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Stepdown Unit, or related critical care nursing field
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required
- Strong knowledge of critical care nursing practices, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
