Job Summary:

As a Sterile Processing/Central Service Technician II at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. Under general supervision, you will perform a wide range of tasks related to inventory management, decontamination, inspection, maintenance, and assembly of surgical devices, reusable instrumentation, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Kaiser Permanente's mission and the supportive role of the CSR Department in contributing to customer service, clinical, and financial goals.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and practices, and take appropriate action to address them.
  • Participate in error reporting and correction, and contribute to continuous improvement of system processes and staff performance.
  • Provide excellent customer service, partnering with internal and external customers to meet their needs and expectations.
  • Assist new surgeons and surgery staff in their orientation to the instrument inventory, set arrangement, and location in the sterile core.
  • Deliver, pick up, and receive reusable instruments and equipment, ensuring they are complete and handled to prevent damage or loss.
  • Operate department equipment safely, and use performance indicators to ensure proper function and initiate corrective action if necessary.
  • Perform and document sterilizer cycles, ensuring parameters for sterilization are met.
Requirements:
  • Minimum one year of experience with C.S., O.R. instrumentation reprocessing or a related area.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Registered Central Service Technician Certificate within 3 months of hire.

This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek, working Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
