As a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), you will work closely with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and other educational professionals to deliver high-quality services to elementary-aged students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist SLPs in implementing therapy plans and activities tailored to the needs of students with ASD.
  • Conduct individual and group sessions to support communication, language, and social skills development.
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to the supervising SLP and adjusting activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom and home environments.
  • Support classroom integration of communication tools and strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of sessions and student progress.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or a related field.
  • State Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in Georgia.
  • Experience working with children, preferably with ASD or other developmental disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children with special needs.
