Surgical Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Beacon Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and coordination.
Job SummaryThe Surgical Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This includes preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care, as well as administrative tasks such as documentation and communication with the healthcare team.
Responsibilities- Clinical Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for surgery by conducting thorough assessments, obtaining medical histories, and developing individualized care plans.
- Assist with surgical procedures, including exposure, dissection, wound closure, and application of immobilization devices.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to emergencies during surgical procedures.
- Conduct daily rounds, document medical plans, and manage routine inpatient care, including diagnostic tests, labs, medications, and nutrition.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans and communicate with patients' families.
- Administrative and Collaborative Responsibilities:
- Participate in clinic/office process planning to enhance patient care delivery.
- Contribute to quality improvement programs to ensure high-quality care and positive patient outcomes.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of clinical protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain strong communication with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure timely and effective patient care.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Valid and current RN license in Indiana.
- Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with national certification.
- At least two years of clinical nursing experience in the relevant specialty area, plus successful completion of a six-month internship (for new graduates).
- Prescriptive authority certification or ability to complete within six months of hire.
Estimated annual salary: $120,000 - $150,000 depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
