About the Job
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Dining Room Server Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our members have an exceptional dining experience by providing top-notch service and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist servers with set-up, service, and clean-up tasks;
- Serve water to members and guests as they are seated;
- Assist with carrying food trays to tables;
- Remove soiled dishes from tables and bring them to the dish-washing area;
- Restock servers' stations with supplies;
- Clean and maintain the dining room areas;
- Collect trash from the dining room, grill, and other specified areas after each serving period;
- Dust chairs before and after meals;
- Keep ice bins and buckets filled;
- Set up, empty, and clean the salad bar;
- Clean and store child highchairs and booster seats;
- Collect soiled linen from the dining room and transfer it to the linen pick-up area;
- Take packaged take-out orders to the reception stand for member pickup;
- Fold napkins and breadbasket linens;
- Clean up spills, broken service ware, and attend to similar problems during service with minimal disruption to diners;
- Assist the Dining Room Manager and other employees in ensuring that the club's policies and procedures for serving alcoholic beverages are consistently followed;
- May assist banquet personnel in setting up, serving, and cleaning up after banquet functions;
- Polish silver service items;
- Attend pre-service training (line-up meeting);
- Moves tables and chairs as needed for the next members and guest diners;
- Resets tables at the end of shift for the next meal period;
- Assists with banquet and buffet setup;
- Helps to maintain a fully stocked buffet;
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School diploma or GED;
- A minimum of one year of work experience in a fine dining environment;
- Food safety certification;
- To be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages;
- To follow all club guidelines pertaining to table setting, order taking, and sequence of service;
- To know and be able to communicate menu items and daily specials;
- To have knowledge of and ability to perform required roles during emergency situations.
Working Conditions:
This role requires you to:
- Stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, and twist or reach;
- Pull or lift up to 50 pounds;
- Work in a hot, humid, and noisy environment;
- Perform continuous repetitive motions.
Salary Range: $25,000 - $35,000 per year
