Job Summary

Americold Logistics is seeking a skilled Packaging Specialist to join our team. As a Packaging Specialist, you will be responsible for manually packing single products into multiple pack cartons, efficiently stacking and storing merchandise, and preparing products for shipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manually pack single products into multiple pack cartons, ensuring accurate and efficient stacking and storage of merchandise.
  • Check products for damage, labeling, and palletizing cartons in preparation for shipment.
  • Perform labeling, sorting, and wrapping tasks to ensure products are properly prepared for shipment.
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety, in compliance with OSHA Standards.
  • Participate in physical inventories, as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse, while maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work environment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Experience using Box Cutters and Automatic shrink film wrappers safely and efficiently.
Physical Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential functions and meet the physical requirements needed to perform them, including but not limited to:

  • Standing, walking, bending, squatting, stretching, twisting, pushing, pulling, gripping, reaching, or lifting hands and arms above the head.
  • Tolerating working environment with inside controlled temperatures of -15 degrees Fahrenheit and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold, and precipitation).
  • Repetitive motions with many job functions over the course of the shift.
  • Standing in one place for up to 2 hours at a time, over the period of an 8-hour shift.
  • Transferring and lifting boxes of up to 70 lbs. and lifting or carrying products a minimum distance of 6 ft. without mechanical assistance.
