Job Description

The Building People, LLC, is seeking an experienced Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Program Manager to lead our rapidly expanding connected infrastructure division. As a key member of our building technologies infrastructure team, the successful candidate will oversee a multimillion-dollar, multi-year program, segmented into sub-projects, for multiple customers across a national portfolio.

The AMI Program Manager will be responsible for ensuring the proper delivery of the program for our customers, meeting financial performance expectations, and ensuring a superior level of customer satisfaction. This includes accountability for revenues, profitability, and cash, as well as developing and maintaining an ongoing understanding of major commercial AMI integration software and platforms.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, experience with conducting site visits and assessments, and the ability to collaborate with customers, trade contractors, building inspectors, and building service providers. Additionally, they will have experience with using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and be able to obtain a basic civilian security clearance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing project managers working on the program
  • Working with engineering team managers to identify resources and assemble the project team
  • Deploying a solid governance framework to track project progress and report on program health
  • Ensuring risk assessment and mitigation action plans are maintained
  • Managing escalations internally and externally with the customer
  • Leading by example and being a role-model for the Project Management function
