Histology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Technician to join our team at Forefront Dermatology. This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm.

The successful candidate will be responsible for obtaining and preparing tissue specimens from various body tissues to perform microscopic examination. Key duties include:

• Performing complex histological procedures and techniques such as grossing, cutting, staining, drying, and freezing to preserve and test the samples.
• Preparing tissue specimens for routine and special procedures to obtain a patient diagnosis.
• Recording and analyzing data.
• Preparing media, chemicals, reagents, and solutions.
• Perserving and storing samples.
• Maintaining, cleaning, and repairing equipment and instruments.
• Establishing and monitoring quality control programs.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• An Associate's Degree in a science-related field is preferred.
• HT/L ASCP certification or completion of Histology Technician training course and eligibility to sit for the exam is required.
• Certification required within 1 year of hire.
• 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area is preferred.
• Ability to differentiate between all colors is required.
