Histology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Technician to join our team at Forefront Dermatology. This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for obtaining and preparing tissue specimens from various body tissues to perform microscopic examination. Key duties include:
- Performing complex histological procedures and techniques such as grossing, cutting, staining, drying, and freezing to preserve and test the samples.
- Preparing tissue specimens for routine and special procedures to obtain a patient diagnosis.
- Recording and analyzing data.
- Preparing media, chemicals, reagents, and solutions.
- Perserving and storing samples.
- Maintaining, cleaning, and repairing equipment and instruments.
- Establishing and monitoring quality control programs.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- An Associate's Degree in a science-related field is preferred.
- HT/L ASCP certification or completion of Histology Technician training course and eligibility to sit for the exam is required.
- Certification required within 1 year of hire.
- 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area is preferred.
- Ability to differentiate between all colors is required.
