Job Title:

External Business Development Lead / Head of Business Development (for CRO)

Job Summary:

The External Business Development Lead/Head of Business Development is responsible for driving sales growth and business development initiatives for our company. This role requires a strong understanding of our business objectives and the ability to develop and execute strategies to achieve them.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively prospect and generate new sales and business opportunities in support of our corporate objectives
  • Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with customers and develop in-depth knowledge of their organization and needs
  • Achieve organizational sales targets
  • Collaborate with the internal business development team in development and delivery of proposals
  • Establish and maintain frequent contact with customers through focused client visits and presentations
  • Support the development and delivery of marketing and advertising initiatives when necessary
  • Drive daily customer engagement through in-person meetings, online, phone calls and email
  • Maintain contacts with appropriate sales activity data within our CRM
  • Perform general strategic and tactical account planning, management, and execution
  • Possess strong and effective presentation skills; ability to convincingly present features and benefits of our services to clients
  • Attend industry events, set up meetings and follow up with potential clients
Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of previous experience in sales and/or CRO Operations or 7+ years' experience in CRO sales and/or CRO Operations
  • Must be reliable, highly motivated, well-organized, results-oriented, customer-focused, and possess excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Self-starter and team player with the ability to work in a smaller company as well as a dynamic and nimble environment
  • Enjoy working in an entrepreneurial culture that requires rapid response and the ability to make timely, sound decisions
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop actionable plans and execute initiatives to achieve organizational goals
  • Results-driven mindset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Salesforce
  • An established network of industry contacts (preferred)
