Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health - 30 Prospect Avenue. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as radiological positioning of the human body.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform computer tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation.
  • Assist with interventional and therapeutic procedures.
  • Use professional judgment when reviewing and obtaining patient's clinical history for procedures, ensuring information is documented and scanned into PACS.
  • Prepare, screen and review the accuracy of the contrast questionnaire with patient and/or family member and scan into EPIC.
  • Identify and/or administer contrast media related to CT exams as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Verify the patient prescription to ensure appropriateness of exam and communicate with the Radiologist and Referring Physician to obtain additional clinical information or a new prescription.
  • Evaluate radiographs using PACS System to ensure that radiographs contain proper identification and are of diagnostic value.
  • Use consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from the medical record, significant others and health care providers to prepare protocols for scanning and patient safety.
  • Prep patient for scanning, determine appropriate type and dose of contrast to be administered, and provide accurate explanations and instructions at any appropriate time.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures according to established guidelines.
  • Monitor the patient's physical condition for any adverse reactions during the procedure.
  • Responsible for scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends, overtime as needed, and on-call assignments as needed per Department of Radiology policy.


Requirements:
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and radiological positioning of the human body.
  • Understanding mechanical attributes of CT software and hardware.
  • Thorough knowledge of PACS system.
  • Six months CT experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Epic and any HIS/RIS system added by the hospital.


Additional Information: This position is part of the Hackensack Meridian Health team at 30 Prospect Avenue. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
