Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Expert Insurance Recovery Specialist to join our Complex Liability Consulting (CLC) practice. This 18-month contract position offers the opportunity to work remotely from anywhere in the US.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing clients' insurance recovery for mass tort and other high-value claims. Key tasks include insurance archeology, policy analysis and mapping, electronic database solutions, allocation modeling, negotiations with insurers, and claims and payment tracking.

Essential Functions
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain organization and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical Problem Solving: Strong verbal and written skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Research: Conduct research via the internet and other sources; investigative skills required.
  • Independence: Work independently within a corporate environment.
Client Service
  • Claims Management: Review and record information about claims filed.
  • Financial Research: Research financial parent companies and determine the financial solvency of legacy insurers.
  • Communication: Set up email notifications, ensure insurers receive notices, and review insurer correspondence.
  • Coverage Analysis: Understand and analyze basic coverage issues related to commercial general liability and excess liability insurance policies.
  • Litigation Costs: Organize information related to litigation costs across multiple claims.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with insurers and clients to provide coverage, claims, and litigation cost information, and respond to questions.
  • Issue Resolution: Actively uncover concerns or issues that may be unclear.
  • Confidentiality: Respect and maintain client confidentiality.
Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Experience: 3-5+ years of relevant experience at a law firm, insurer, or third-party administrator. Experience in long-tail and emerging coverage issues is a plus.
  • Claims Handling: Experience handling complex claims for general liability and excess policies.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to work efficiently in Word and Excel.
  • Legal Knowledge: Understanding of basic insurance concepts and legal pleadings (Summons and Complaint).
What We Offer
