Job Summary

The Clinical Support Specialist plays a key role in delivering high-quality patient care. This includes interviewing patients, collecting and documenting medical history, and performing vital sign measurements and standard testing as per clinic procedures.

Main Responsibilities

  • Interview patients to collect and document their medical history, medication reconciliation, and allergies.
  • Perform vital sign measurements and standard testing as required by clinic procedures.
  • Coordinate and perform follow-on procedures as directed by a provider, including onsite testing, specimen collection, and wound care.
  • Assist with provider-performed procedures such as suture application or splints.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care, notify them of test and lab results, and explain practice policies and procedures using cultural competency and active listening.
  • Document care into the electronic medical recordkeeping system (EMR), ensuring completion of necessary documentation and forms.
  • Maintain and monitor consumable supplies and medications for effective ongoing clinical operations.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and secure clinical environment, adhering to standard precautions and principles of infection control.

Requirements

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from a recognized organization (AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Able to lift supplies and equipment regularly and navigate the clinical area actively throughout work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior work experience in a clinical setting.

Compensation and Benefits
