Job Overview

Agfinity, the largest agricultural Cooperative in Colorado, is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Convenience Store Clerk to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for selling, distributing, and marketing store items and related products in a manner that optimizes the cooperative's market share and savings, improves efficiency, and achieves outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, and demonstrating solid product knowledge.
  • Maintain property, facilities, and equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Follow all company policies and retail SOPs to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Collect cash, checks, credit cards, or charge payments from customers and make change for cash transactions.
  • Fulfill propane bottle filling and lifting hoses to fill RVs.
  • Answer phones as needed and assist with floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and store housekeeping.
  • Stock, price, and rotate all food merchandise and assist with store inventory.
  • Maintain a clean and neat appearance for all areas of the store.
  • Date food, check for expiration and freshness dates, and rotate as needed.
  • Follow daily checkout procedures to assist in daily balancing of cash drawers.
  • Assist in other areas/departments of the store as needed.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic math skills and knowledge of a point-of-sale system.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. Must be able to stand for 4 hours at a time. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste, and smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift 40 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally. A portion of the work time is outdoors where temperatures can be extreme.

This position requires a pre-hire, post-offer criminal background check, and a drug screen.
