Maritime Internship

McAllister Towing is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Summer/Winter Intern. This temporary training position is designed to provide hands-on experience and valuable skills in the maritime industry.

• Assist in tugboat operations, including handling lines and wires, and performing maintenance tasks.
• Participate in shipboard drills and training exercises to develop skills in firefighting, man overboard, and abandon ship procedures.
• Contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, including cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Develop professional relationships with customers, pilots, and terminal personnel.

• Current U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential (if applicable).
• Valid Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
• Ability to lift 100 lbs, walk and stand on wet surfaces for extended periods, and handle heavy lines and machinery.

• Adequate vision, hearing, and physical ability to perform duties.
• Ability to climb a 12-foot ladder and hoist oneself up and over a 6-foot barrier.

Cadet Day Rate - varies per port.
