About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Inspector to join our team at Rescar Companies. As a Mechanical Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our rail car manufacturing and maintenance processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of rail cars to ensure compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Review estimates, work orders, and quality assurance documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate findings to customers in a clear and concise manner, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Perform inspection services within budget and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve processes and suggest ways to enhance the effectiveness of our team.
Requirements
  • Progressive mechanical experience in rail car manufacturing and/or maintenance repair facilities.
  • Knowledge of AAR and FRA requirements, as well as the use of railcar gages.
  • Ability to read and comprehend customer requirements.
  • Technical writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of organization.
Working Environment

The Mechanical Inspector will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and loud noise levels. Protective equipment will be provided and must be worn at all times.
