Center Attendant

At the YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South, we are seeking a qualified Center Attendant to join our team in Oxford. As a Center Attendant, you will play a vital role in providing quality care to children aged 6 weeks to 12 years who participate in our child-watch program while their families use the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of each child under your care.
- Implement program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and consistent with the YMCA values.
- Maintain a clean and organized program site and equipment.
- Keep accurate records of program activities and attendance.
- Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, team meetings, and training sessions.
- Enforce all YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, emergencies, and dress code.
- Cultivate positive relationships with parents, children, and other team members.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with diverse populations and children.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to build positive and authentic relationships with parents and children.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within 30 days of hire date.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
- Ability to lift and assist children up to 50 pounds in weight.
