Job DescriptionJob OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Analytics Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in analyzing data and providing insights to drive business decisions.
Responsibilities- Analyze financial and operational performance data related to healthcare contracts, identifying areas for improvement and recommending changes.
- Provide analysis for Medicaid and other Managed Care products, including HMO, PPOs, and POS products.
- Create and maintain reimbursement schedules in third-party analytic software.
- Monitor and trend third-party reimbursement, including denial analysis.
- Develop financial models to analyze data and report efficiently on existing and new reports.
- Support management by providing information, locating data sources, and collecting data under tight time constraints.
- Analyze utilization patterns driving healthcare costs and recommend actions to impact financial performance.
- Review shared risk claims, capitation, risk pool settlements, and various reports submitted by health plans, submitting discrepancy reports within required time limits.
- Create reports on payor reimbursement for Senior Leadership.
- Make recommendations to Revenue Cycle regarding changes in application utilization.
- Assist in developing training materials and ensure Revenue Cycle staff receives proper training.
- Extract and query data from multiple sources and systems, compiling data into written and verbal reports and presentations.
- Develop queries to pull financial/claims data for analytical and statistical models to inform business decisions.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge preferred.
- Minimum three years' experience in an analytic or analyst role in a healthcare environment with knowledge of physician reimbursement.
- Experience using relational databases, decision support systems, analysis, and modeling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables).
