Job Description

The Medical Registration Specialist plays a vital role at the Hopedale Medical Complex, serving as the first point of contact for patients. This position requires exceptional communication skills, both in person and over the phone, to provide quality customer service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Greet all patients and answer incoming phone calls in a professional manner.
  • Record patient demographic information, insurance, and billing details into the CPSI computer system.
  • Counsel patients and families regarding financial issues such as insurance.
  • Provide accurate information on billing, complaint procedures, patient rights, and visiting hours.
  • Collect and record payments or forward relevant information to the Patient Accounts Department.
  • Maintain orders sent to the hospital by referring offices.
  • Screen calls to assess their urgency and nature.
Requirements

To succeed as a Medical Registration Specialist at Hopedale Medical Complex, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in medical office reception is necessary.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is essential.
  • Awareness of patient registration and documentation procedures is crucial.
  • Strong telephone communication skills are required, often in stressful situations.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
  • Knowledge of basic insurance procedures and documentation of third-party medical insurance payers is required.
Compensation

We offer a competitive salary of $15-$16 per hour, reflecting the importance of this role in providing excellent patient care.
