Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Carle Health. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized ultrasound examinations, adapting procedures to obtain specific diagnostic results, and preparing patients for examinations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform ultrasound procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards of Medical Imaging.
  • Exhibit competency in performing ultrasound procedures, including imaging required views demonstrating appropriate anatomy and pathology.
  • Obtain accurate histories and explain the rationale for the procedure to patients and families.
  • Maintain quality care throughout the procedure and assess the abdominal arterial and venous system using color imaging.
  • Perform reasonable trouble shooting and report equipment problems through appropriate channels.
  • Document area of concern, set up trays with sterile field for radiologist, and assist radiologist with biopsy.
  • Promptly process images and paperwork to ensure timely turn-around in providing a report to the physician's office.
  • Maintain and coordinate patient flow to ensure efficient and expedient patient care.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Ultrasound or related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology.
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification within 6 months.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
  • New Grads will be considered.

Additional Requirements:

  • Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
  • Work may occasionally require travel to other facilities.
