Washington County Mental Health Services is a leading provider of mental health services to children and youth. We are seeking a highly skilled Youth Mental Health Specialist to join our team.
Job Description:
The Youth Mental Health Specialist will be responsible for providing community-based assessment, treatment, and supports for children and youth experiencing severe emotional disturbances and their families. This includes supervising up to 10 Behavioral Interventionist staff, developing and delivering services to assist clients in gaining access to needed medical, social, educational, vocational, housing, financial, and other services.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise up to 10 Behavioral Interventionist staff.
- Develop and deliver services to assist clients in accessing needed services.
- Maintain contact with other professional service providers for case review or consultation.
- Develop treatment plans to deliver or provide services and interventions identified by the treatment team.
- Assist in developing natural support networks for children and youth and their families.
- Assist clients in accessing community resources.
- Participate in ongoing treatment and educational team meetings.
- Work cooperatively with schools, social rehabilitative services, and other agencies providing services.
- Provide and maintain electronic medical records for clients.
- Attend staff meetings at WCMH as required.
- Ability to physically restrain clients who are a danger to themselves or others.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in human services or related field required.
- Two years of human service delivery experience with children and families preferred.
- Possession of a valid driver's license, excellent driving record, and access to a safe, reliable, insured vehicle required.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds and execute physical restraints.
Benefits:
This full-time position offers competitive salary $63,000 - $78,000 annually, based on experience. Additionally, we offer comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
