About the Role:

As a CBRE Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing engineering operations and providing technical direction to technicians, vendors, and subcontractors.

This position is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

The successful candidate will be an onsite position in Marshall, Michigan, and will be responsible for formulating and implementing a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Complying with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  2. Overseeing operations, assigning work orders, and providing technical and procedural training of coworkers and subcontractors.
  3. Consulting with clients to schedule preventive maintenance and other downtime to minimize business interruption and inconvenience.
  4. Formulating and implementing a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life.
  5. Overseeing and inspecting the work performed by engineering staff.
  6. Confirming that work is complete, equipment is fully functional and client space is in prime working condition.
  7. Responding quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  8. Applying in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  9. Coching others and sharing in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  10. Leading by example and modeling behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  11. Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  12. Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  13. Explain difficult or sensitive information.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions. Prior automotive experience is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Additional Requirement:
    • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
