Job Description

Cleaver-Brooks Sales and Service, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer, Burner Solutions Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the selection of all mechanical components and preparation of project documentation. This role will involve assisting drafters, quality control, and production departments during project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and direct engineering projects, applying engineering knowledge and design drafting effort.
  • Prepare process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID, 2D drawings).
  • Review project specifications and select appropriate components.
  • Prepare bills of materials (BOM).
  • Perform mechanical calculations (fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, mechanical, and others).
  • Prepare various documentation for projects.
  • Contact suppliers and obtain quotations for special equipment.
  • Provide technical advice, support, and counsel to other departments.
  • Support mechanical and piping designers with their duties.
  • Acquire necessary knowledge for successful duty performance and communicate it to others.
  • Support service technicians during burner start-up and servicing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred or related field).
  • 0-3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, boiler, burner, and/or HRSG & Project Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering (process and instrumentation).
  • Industrial burner systems experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of industrial piping & instrumentation, welding, and welding procedures.
  • Knowledge of industrial piping Codes: ASME B31.1, B31.3.
  • Knowledge of fire protection code: NFPA, CSA.
  • Ability to effectively interface with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent knowledge of Autocad (mandatory), and communication software.
  • Knowledge and experience with Visual Basic and programming in Excel.
  • Possess a sound theoretical knowledge of thermodynamic, fluid dynamic, and mechanics.
